Science is Elementary
- Each issue includes at least 10 inquiry-based, hands-on, minds-on activities for K-6 classrooms.
- The activities are designed to provide your students with the opportunity to investigate, develop questions, and communicate their discoveries to each other and to a larger audience.
- All activities are linked to the National Benchmarks and the National Science Education Standards.
- Each volume covers a STEM topic and each issue (4 per volume) covers a different aspect of the topic.
Compendiums of Lesson Plans and Bibliographies
- Developed by K-8 teacher participants in the 2002-2007 Summer Institutes.
- Each Compendium contains ad-free lesson plans covering up to 15 topics.
- All activities are linked to the Massachusetts Math and Science Technology/ Engineering Frameworks.
- 2002-2004 Compendiums are currently available. 2005-2007 Compendiums will be available soon in convienent CD format.
Creating Family Friendly Activities in Math and Science
From 1997 to 2002, MassPIP (Massachusetts Parent Involvement Project) worked with parents, teachers, and volunteers to develop and present hands-on science and math activities to families in their own communities. PIP has assembled their "lessons learned" in this easy-to-read guide.
